Regular Season: 2018-2019 Schedule

After Christmas starts Monday, January 8, 2019 - March 16, 2019 (March 11 last day for CanSkate)

The various programs include:

This program is designed to teach children aged 3 years and up who are just learning to skate.
Using circuits, teaching aids and a variety of activities, the coaches provide a fun environment for learning solid skating skills.

CANSkate Learn to Skate
Canada's only national "Learn to Skate" program
The program teaches basic skating skills, focusing on fun, rhythmic exercises.
The program is delivered by N.C.C.P. qualified coaches, with help from club-trained Program Assistants.

Rising Stars (includes Star 1-4)
CanSkate Enrichment is a program taught in a group lesson format that teaches the latter stages of the CanSkate Program and the first star levels. This program is for CanSkaters who want a little more challenge and an introduction to figure skating. The Enrichment program introduces Star 1 elements, creative expression and Skate Canada disciplines dance, skills and freeskate in preparation for Star 2 and their individual freeskate solo. Skaters in Star 3 and Star 4 continue to participate in this group environment, and are encouraged to sign up for additional open ice slots and private lessons to further develop figure skating skills. Skaters in Star 3 and Star 4 are working on the Axel jump, as well as jump combinations and spin combinations.
Tuesdays (3:30 – 4:30 pm) & Fridays (4:45 – 5:45 pm)

STAR 5 and Up
Continuing to build on skating experience, skaters learn a wide range of figure skating skills, and to work independently. For STAR 5, skaters must have passed the Preliminary Free Skating test, and must not have passed the complete Senior Bronze Free Skating test. The STARSkate program begins with the Senior Bronze level.

Adult Skate for Fitness
The program offers a fun environment to learn new on-ice exercises and to develop more skating skills.

Jumpstart Program (Pre-Season) September 17-27, 2018
This is a great way to work in the new skates, get your legs moving and have some fun!

Spring School Session (contact the club for 2019 program details)
This session runs after the regular season has ended. Skating sessions are held every day Monday to Friday for approximately 5 weeks, and are open to all skaters in our club, new skaters and skaters from other clubs. The sessions provide skaters with additional time to work on their skating skills, and an opportunity to take tests in any of the skating disciplines before the summer break.
